| Turkish Massage - is traditionally performed in a Turkish bath. The first Turkish baths date back to the time of the ancient Greeks and Romans. The Turkish bath is the direct successor to the Roman bath and has had a special place in Turkish tradition for hundreds of years. It has three main purposes- relaxation, refreshment, and the promotion of health. The bath traditionally has a domed roof with thick bottle-glass lights set into the dome that concentrate the sunlight. Today in the middle-east, especially in Turkey, soap suds are used to enhance the effect of a massage by encouraging the hands to slip and slide with depth and energy over the skin. The bather lies on the hot marble slabs for a vigorous massage, which focuses on the arms, shoulders, neck, legs, chest and back. Your body is acclimatised with warm water, then scrubbed to remove the top layers of dead skin cells and ingrained dirt, leaving your skin refreshed, tingling and your whole body rejuvenated.
